Wilma Jeanne Matlack, known by her friends as Jeanne, age 80, passed away peacefully at her residence in North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Jeanne was born on October 28, 1942, in McDonald, PA, a daughter of the late Margaret (Campbell) Rudy Tucker and Charles Rudy. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Daniel Matlack; beloved mother of Timothy Matlack (Stacy Vulakovich) and Kristy (David) Ferraro; cherished grandmother of Mackenzie Matlack, Nicholas Ferraro, and Benjamin Ferraro; sister of Brenda (Nolan) Vance and Tom Tucker; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeanne is preceded in death not only by her parents but her stepfather, Gilbert Tucker, and brothers Tom Rudy and Jon Tucker. Jeanne graduated from Fort Cherry High School and went on to fulfill a longstanding career at US Airways reservations office from which she retired. Jeanne was a giver, always looking for ways to help others. The Angel Tree for the Salvation Army was her biggest project every year, making sure each child received gifts from several locations. She then moved on from there to help at the Pittsburgh Marathon. You never really had to do more than ask Jeanne for her help, and she would be there. Her passion to help others was only surpassed by her love of family. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at the HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Rd., North Fayette Twp., Imperial, PA, 724-695-7332 on Friday, May 19, 2023, between the hours of 6-9 pm. Rest in peace, Jeanne.
