Steven J. Kanish

Steven J. Kanish, age 54, of Robinson Township, McDonald, PA, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 22, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  Steven was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 8, 1970, son to Tanis (Robson) Kanish and the late Steven Kanish; brother to Nicole Kanish, Jay (Rose) Kanish, and Aaron Kanish; nephew to Russ (Mary) Robson and Mary Robson; uncle to Sierra Kanish, Jay Kanish, and Gaven Kanish; stepson to Leigh Ann Kanish.  Along with his father, Steven is preceded in death by his uncles, the late Joseph Robson and Ralph Robson.

Steven graduated from Fort Cherry High School.  He worked as a machinist at Valassis Direct Mail, Inc.  Steven loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing.  He enjoyed sharing a beer with his friends over a game of darts or pool.  Grilling was a favorite pastime of Steven’s.  He could be found in front of his grill at any time of the day or night, even cooking pork steaks at 2 a.m.  Rest in peace, Steven.
