Scott E. McComas Jr.

Scott Eugene McComas Jr., age 71, of Independence Township, Clinton, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2024.  Scott was born in Phoenix, AZ, on September 11, 1952, son to the late Alma (Schipper) and Scott McComas Sr.; devoted husband of 28 years to the late Ruth Reitz McComas who passed away on September 13, 2017; beloved father to Scott Odell and Carissa McComas; cherished grandfather to three grandchildren; brother to Strelsa Sharrett; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Scott is also survived by the Reynolds family and his nephew, Roger Reynolds Jr., who helped care for him for the past six years, the Reitz family, originally from Clinton, PA, and his lifelong friend, Mary Avis Holadde.  Along with his parents and wife, Scott is preceded in death by an infant brother, Scotty McComas, and brother, David McComas.

Scott loved to fish and was a lifelong Steeler fan.  He loved participating in church camp and attended Bible Methodist Church in McDonald and Clinton Wesleyan Church.  Since his wife, Ruth, passed away, Scott has had many struggles with his health.  He would often say he wanted to be with her in heaven and dreamed of the day they would be reunited.  Scott loved to sing, and he is now singing in the heavenly choir.  Rest in peace, Scott.

A memorial service for Scott will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Clinton Wesleyan Church, 1022 Clinton Road, Clinton, PA.  It is respectfully requested that donations in Scott's memory be sent to Clinton Wesleyan Church.  Arrangements entrusted to HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M.
