Robert M. Kress
“Bob”
Bob was born to Mike and Emily (George) Kress, in Sturgeon, PA on August 3, 1935. He passed on November 2, 2021 at the age of 86 with his family all around. He married Janice Eileen Zeigler on July 24, 1959. Jan passed on September 1, 2021. They were a team for 62 years. Bob missed his beloved wife so much that he followed her to heaven after only 61 days apart. Together, they raised their three children, Rachelle (Steve) Kulback, Pamela (Mark) Perry and Robert “Bob” (Barb) Kress. Bob (also known as Pap Pap Sugar, Grampy, Pap or Grandpap) is the beloved grandfather of Nick (Ashlee), Abby (Mike), Brent, Jocelyn, Ali, Loren, Bobby, and Maci; adoring great-grandfather of Olivia, Haylee and Madelyn. Bob is the brother of Helen Smith of Bulger, Elsie Leininger of Oakdale, the late Dorothy Meyers of Sturgeon and the late Lawrence Kress of California. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was a family man at heart and he took great pride in the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He worked for Duquesne Light as a cable splicer for 37 years and was a member of the IBEW. He proudly served in the US Army 37th Armored Battalion. He was a tireless worker, spending endless hours creating a beautiful homestead on their 11 acres of property in North Fayette Township. He took great pride in maintaining his red 1951 Farmall Super A tractor. He loved his German Shepherd dogs, Jan’s potato salad, a cold Rolling Rock pony bottle and a competitive game of corn hole. Bob and Jan especially enjoyed a good meal out together and day trips to Columbiana, OH, and surrounds.
Bob will be greatly missed. Rest in peace. Love you always, Dad.
