Peter W. Longstreth, Jr.

Age 94, a lifelong resident of Oakdale, PA, passed peacefully at his residence on Wednesday evening, March 24, 2021.  A son of the late Peter W. and Maryann (Wallace) Longstreth, Sr.; beloved husband of the late Jean A. (Sturgeon) Longstreth, who passed on July 11, 2005; father of Jill (Lyle) Grover and Carol Johnston-Trax; grandfather of Alyson (Ed) Dellget, Josh (Angela) Ghaly,  Sasha Johnston, Shayla (Rob) Woolfort, Ben (Suzie) Grover, Brianna (Josh) Scanlan, and the late Kyle Ghaly, who passed on Nov. 9, 2020; great-grandfather of 5; brother of the late Mary Jordan, John Longstreth, Lawson Longstreth and Margaret Hormel.

Pete served his country in the US Navy during WWII.  He retired as Postmaster of Oakdale Post Office after 31 years.  Pete was a member of many organizations in Oakdale including the VFW #7070, the American Legion Post 171, the Masonic Lodge #669, as well as a lifetime member of the Oakdale Vol. Fire Dept. and a member of the NSS Life Assembly #123.  He was a member of Veterans Breakfast Club where he enjoyed reminiscing with other veterans about their time spent defending our country.  Rest in peace, Pete.
