Patricia (Palmer) Edgin

Patricia ‘Pat’ Edgin, age 92, of Traverse City, MI, formerly of Oakdale, PA, passed away at French Manor Terra on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Pat was born February 20,1934, in Newton Hamilton, PA, daughter of James and Naomi (Irvin) Palmer. She was united in marriage to Clair E. Edgin on February 1, 1953, and enjoyed 56 years of marriage prior to his passing.

Pat never missed an opportunity to go shopping and never found a yard sale she didn’t like. After relocating to Oakdale, PA, in the early 1960s following Clair’s work with Mobil Oil, she became a state-certified Emergency Medical Technician, and at various times worked in security at Greater Pittsburgh Airport and at department store warehouses in the Pittsburgh area - for the employee discounts, of course.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clair; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Edgin; sisters, Betty Reed, Joyce Bollinger, and Lois Hooper; and brother, Thomas Palmer.

She is survived by her son, Gregory (Greg) Edgin of Bellaire, MI; grandchildren, Joseph Maher-Edgin (Sarah) of Grandville, MI, and Kathleen Krajewski (Nicholas) of Oakland, FL; great-grandchildren, Camden, Noah, and Declan Edgin, and Kya and Owen Krajewski; sister, Jeanne Rutherford; multiple nieces and nephews; and her favorite granddog, Golden Retriever Douglas (Big Butt) MacArthur.

A viewing will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a brief service to follow at Heath-Anderson Funeral Home, Mt. Union, PA. Interment will take place at Haven Rest Memorial Cemetery in Shirleysburg, PA.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Munson Hospice for making Pat’s final months comfortable, and especially to the staff of French Manor Terra, who lovingly cared for Pat - and put up with her antics - for four years in both assisted living and memory care. Her love for her caregivers was unmatched (despite some of the things she may have said), and she cherished every one of them.
