Nancy M. Tomko, age 81, of Findlay Township, Clinton, PA, passed away at her residence on Sunday morning, October 6, 2024. Nancy was born on February 3, 1943, in McKees Rocks, PA, daughter to the late Margaret (Bosco) and Anthony Lavorgna; devoted wife of 57 years to Paul G. Tomko; beloved mother to Tina Metalik and her husband, Drake, and the late Margaret “Margie” Popp who passed on October 9, 2013; cherished grandmother to Sean Popp, Crystal Metalik, Justin Metalik, and the late Ashley Tomko who passed on August 21,1999; adored great-grandmother to Braxton Kubacki.
Nancy was employed as a nurse’s aide for Allegheny General Hospital and Allegheny Valley School where she faithfully assisted the mentally challenged for over 30 years. She was a member of Saint Isidore the Farmer Parish where she was actively involved in the Christian Mothers and Guild and Ladies of Charity at St. Columbkille Church. She also enjoyed helping with the elementary CCD classes and Vacation Bible School. Nancy was not only involved in her church but also volunteered her time to the Meals on Wheels program within her community.
In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed crocheting, baking, cooking, crossword puzzles, and Sudoku. Most important, though, family was the central aspect of her life for Nancy. She loved having family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. Rest in peace, Nancy.
Family to receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2024, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Road, North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, 724-695-7332. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, St. Columbkille Church, Imperial, PA, on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., followed by graveside committal at Resurrection Cemetery, Coraopolis, PA.
