(Stewart) Davis; cherished father of Sarah Davis and Jake Davis; adored brother of David Davis and Mindy (Brian) Partyka; loving uncle of Morgan Partyka, Mackenzie Partyka, Macy Partyka, Sean (Corinne) Skjerping, Kelsey Skjerping, Kaylyn Skjerping, Tyler Stewart, and Melissa Stewart; great-uncle of Layla, Henry, and Maren; son-in-law of Donald and the late Elizabeth Stewart; brother-in-law of Lisa (Bruce) Skjerping and William (Marla) Stewart.
Mark had many roles in his life - Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle, Nephew, Son-in Law, Brother-in-Law, Coach, Teacher, Co-Worker, etc. In each of these roles, he displayed true patience, kindness and perpetual optimism.
When we think of Mark, we think of these words that best describe the kind of man he was - giving, patient, optimistic, humble, classy, caring and loving. He was the most genuine person. A role model to all his students and players. The most selfless, loving, caring family man. Loyal to all who knew him. He was the kind of guy who you could always rely on in your time of need. A wholesome and kind man who will be missed dearly. To know Mark is to love Mark.
Mark was best known for his teaching and coaching at West Allegheny School District. He started working in the Middle School in 1996, eventually being hired as a Sixth Grade Math Teacher. He loved teaching many students math and often spent extra time with anyone who needed him. In 2014, Mark co-founded the West Allegheny Rugby Club with Jim Quasey. In the rugby clubs’ inaugural season, they won the State Championship.
He was a football coach for over 25 years, beginning at West A and Ambridge with Terry George before returning to WA where he coached with Bob Palko as the Offensive Coordinator. Mark was part of their eight WPIAL Championships and State Championship teams. He also coached the Middle School Girls Softball team with his brother-in-law, Brian Partyka.
If you asked Mark how he was doing, his answer was always "I'm great, I'm blessed" and he really wanted to help others always see the best in themselves.
