Kris Routch

Kris Routch, age 60, of Findlay Township, Imperial, PA passed peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023, following a brave journey with cancer.  Kris had a remarkable enthusiasm for life, a quick wit, and varied interests.  But his number one passion was being an energetic and involved husband to his wife, Linda, and father to his three children: Sean, Megan, and Liam.  Dedicated to the pursuits of his three children, Kris put his whole heart into family activities.  He never missed attending a high school or college football game to see Sean play in the drumline.  Throughout Megan’s longtime swimming achievements – from youth to senior year in college – he was right there at her meets cheering her on.  He loved to watch Liam play for his high school basketball team and support him at track meets.  For many years, Kris also coached his sons’ baseball teams as a volunteer for the Findlay Athletic Association.

With an admiration of all things Disney, Kris planned many, many family trips to Disney World – the happiest place on earth, he would say.  Kris loved his Pittsburgh sports teams and attended many games over the years.  Season tickets to the Pirates provided priceless moments with his sons.  Kris loved Christmas and the tradition of hunting camp with extended family.  For nearly 40 years, golf was Kris’s passion.  He enjoyed every minute playing with new and old friends and re-telling golf stories afterwards.  After becoming a member of Williams Country Club, he played as much as he could in recent years.  An accountant by trade, Kris’s successful career started and ended with Deloitte and spanned roles in public accounting, supply chain logistics, and consulting.  His work gave him the opportunity to use his unique talents as a leadership coach, skilled public speaker, and persuasive writer.  Kris loved listening to and performing music.  An avid concert goer, he was also a gifted singer and lead vocalist for the Worship Team at the Crossroads Church in North Fayette where he was a member.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda (Hanlon) Routch, and children Sean, Megan, and Liam.  He is also survived by his mother, Virginia Routch, and siblings Patricia (Russell) Stiles of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Mark (Nancy) Routch of Boiling Springs, PA, and Jill (Rick) Berardi of Pittsburgh.  He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Routch.  Family to receive friends at the HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Rd., North Fayette Twp., Imperial, PA, 724-695-7332 on Thursday, March 2, 2023, between the hours of 6-8 pm and Friday, March 3, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 10:30 am at Crossroads Church, 1000 Crossroads Drive, Oakdale, PA 15071 followed by a memorial luncheon at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.  Special thanks are gratefully expressed by the family to Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford, PA for the wonderful care they received.  If so desired, memorial contributions may be made in Kris’s name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 707 Grant Street, 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
