Joan A. Strawser, age 90, of North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Joan was born in Indiana, PA, on September 24, 1934, daughter to the late Katherine (Buckshaw) and John Fetchko; devoted wife of 17 years to the late Charles E. Strawser who passed on August 11, 1989; beloved mother to Lynn Ann DeBor and her husband, Jonathan; cherished grandmother to Maura and Brenna DeBor; sister to the late Marian Fonner, Margaret “Peg” Fetchko, and John Fetchko.
Joan was a longtime volunteer West Allegheny band parent, overseeing the uniforms for decades, as well as chaperoning countless trips. She loved scrapbooking, turning her love for photos into helping with many high school musical photo days. Each of Joan’s interests built amazing friendships that were more like family. Her love of Elvis was something that everyone knew, and she fulfilled a lifelong dream to visit Graceland a little over a year ago when her sweet granddaughter, Maura, and one of Maura’s best friends took Joan on a whirlwind trip. She was a devoted caretaker not only to her granddaughters but to so many little ones throughout the community over the years. Joan will be remembered by all as one who was giving, kind, and had enough love for everyone.
Family to receive friends on Sunday, August 17, 2025, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., at HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M.
