Jim Morosetti Obituary

This is a sad time for the Morosetti family to announce the unexpected passing of their beloved, Jim.  Jim Morosetti, age 87, of North Fayette Township, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024.  Jim was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 27, 1937, son to the late Pearl D. (Kowalski) and Alvin E. Morosetti; loving husband for 51 years to Billie Jean (Persin) Morosetti; cherished father to Bill, Chris (Courtney), Mike (Mary), Jeff (Ilene), and Jim (Kim); treasured grandpap to Jimmy, Jeremy, Nick, Zack, Kaz, Blake, and Zander; brother to the late Gary (Judy, who survives) and Carl (Donna, who survives); brother-in-law to Debbie Lutz and the late Connie Persin; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

After retiring from Hussey Copper as Plant Manager, Jim then embarked on the next chapter in his life as Supervisor of North Fayette Township for 19 years, where he also served as Chairman of the Board and Police Commissioner.  Jim had a strong love and passion for the people and community in North Fayette.  He served as a member of the Char-West Council of Government (COG) for 19 years, 10 of which he acted as President.  Jim was also elected to the West Allegheny School Board and proudly served from 2001 to 2005.  In 1984, he and others were instrumental in forming the North Fayette Soccer Association which later included baseball.  This organization is still going strong today as the North Fayette Athletic Association (NFAA).

Jim was a strong man of faith and was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish at St. Columbkille R.C. Church.  First and foremost, however, was Jim’s love of his family.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, watching them excel on and off the field and wrestling mat.  He was also a huge sports fan, coaching and supporting his sons’ teams from childhood through college.  Jim loved to travel, enjoying trips to Florida and his annual trip to Las Vegas with Billie Jean for their anniversary.  Jim made a lasting impact on the community and has left many wonderful memories.  He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
