Jean Ann (Murray) Thompson

Jean Ann Thompson, age 67, of Findlay Township, Imperial, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on February 24, 1959, beloved daughter to the late Amelia (Cappelli) and Wilbert Murray. Jean is survived by her loving children, Rebekah (Justin) Tomazich and Brian Thompson; grandsons, Brandon “Georgie” (Layna) Thompson and Thomas Tomazich; siblings, David (Somsri) Murray, Susan Lipinski, Thomas (Betty) Murray, and Timothy (Beth) Murray; sweet fur babies, Sophia and Diesel; and blessed with an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert (Dorie) Murray and Richard Murray, and her sister, Mary Rose Murray.

Jean dedicated 29 years of her career to Verizon before retiring, but her greatest joy was always her family. She was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, loving sister, fun-loving aunt, and loyal friend who always put the people she loved before herself. Her kids and her grandsons were the light of her life, and she spoiled them every chance she had. Jean was the heart of her family. She had a kind and compassionate heart and was always there to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or simply listen.

Jean inherited her love of baking from her mother and was especially known for her lady locks, which family and friends always looked forward to. She never let anyone leave her home hungry and loved bringing everyone together for family dinners. Her home was a place where family always knew they were welcome.

Those who knew Jean were drawn to her warm and welcoming personality. She had the perfect blend of sweetness with just enough spice to make everyone smile. She had a wonderful sense of humor, spoke her mind when it mattered, and had a special way of making others feel welcome, valued, and at home. Whether meeting someone for the first time or catching up with an old friend, people often walked away saying what a genuine pleasure she was to be around.

A woman of deep and unwavering Catholic faith, Jean found strength, hope, and peace in her relationship with God. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and carried her through both life’s greatest joys and its most difficult challenges. She lived her faith through quiet acts of kindness, compassion, generosity, and unconditional love for others.

Naturally curious, Jean loved learning. If there was something she wanted to know, she would research it until she understood it completely. She was a wealth of knowledge and someone her family often turned to for answers, advice, and guidance.

Jean’s family describes her as incredibly brave. Throughout her life, she faced more than her share of challenges, yet she met each one with remarkable strength, resilience, and grace. Even during her most difficult battles, Jean continued to put her family first, offering love, comfort, and unwavering support with a smile on her face.
The love Jean gave, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created will stay forever with all who knew her. Though she is deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her. We find comfort knowing she is at peace in the presence of the Lord she loved so deeply.

Jean was truly one of a kind and leaves behind a space in our hearts that can never be filled. We will miss our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Until we meet again, may she rest in God's eternal peace.

Honoring Jean’s wishes, there was no visitation or service.  Her family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support they have received and ask that you remember Jean in your thoughts and prayers.
