James E. “Ed” Pershin, age 81, of Robinson Township, Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026. Ed was born in Imperial, PA, on March 2, 1945, son to the late Grace (Chatterly) and Louis “Lou” Pershin. Ed is survived by the love of his life, his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Marion L. (Taylor) Pershin, their two beloved dogs, Pugsy and Daisy, Jack Pockl, the son Ed and Marion never had, brother, William Pershin, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed is also predeceased by his sister, Clara Lou Boustead and brother, Louis Pershin.
Ed took great pride in his home, loved spending time there with Marion and their two dogs, and enjoyed riding his John Deere lawnmower. He was a hard-working man, spending 35 years with LTV Steel. In the earlier days, he loved to travel. Ed will always be remembered as someone always willing to lend a helping hand.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Road, North Fayette Township, Imperial, (724) 695-7332. A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Valley Cemetery. Rest in peace, Ed.
