Ida Mae Stiffler, of North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, at the age of 93, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Ida was born in Oakdale, PA, on November 24, 1932, beloved daughter to the late Sadie A. (Lee) and Edward W. Ackman; loving wife of 59 years to the late Dan Stiffler who passed on June 22, 2011; devoted mother to Dan Stiffler Jr. and his wife, Lori, Terri Thompson and her husband, Bill, and Mark Stiffler and his wife, Maureen; cherished grandmother to Bill Thompson Jr. and his wife, Marion, Danielle Elsen and her husband, Damian, and Katie Ellis and her fiancé, Tony; loyal sister to the late Ed Jr. and Bob Ackman; and, the late dearest little friend, “Gordon.”
Ida graduated with honors from West Allegheny High School in 1950 where she met her life partner, Dan. First and foremost, Ida’s life mission was to be a loving wife, mother, and grandmother as demonstrated by an enduring marriage of 59 years and successful children and grandchildren. She was an active and engaged volunteer in the PTA, Valley Presbyterian Church Vacation Bible School, and numerous school activities for both her children and grandchildren.
Ida loved gardening and nature. Many have commented, “I wish I could grow this and that flower like Ida.” She also loved country music and NASCAR as her husband did, the reason the late dearest little friend was named “Gordon.” Ida had a life fulfilled through kindness to others and love of family. She will be missed.
Per Ida’s request there will be no visitation. A Committal Service will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery, Clinton, PA, where Ida will be laid to rest with her husband, Dan. Please meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to process to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, it is respectfully requested that donations in Ida’s memory be sent to McDonald Meals on Wheels, 119 Station St., McDonald, PA, (724) 926-2104.
