Helen Ruth (Custer) Hootman

Helen R. Hootman, age 83, of Ashville, OH, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Mount Carmel Hospital in Grove City, OH.  Helen was born on June 1, 1940, daughter to the late Roxanne (Doby) and Joseph Custer; devoted wife to the late Charles W. Hootman Jr. who passed away on October 13, 2003; beloved mother to Charles W. Hootman III and his wife, Ginny, and David A. Hootman; cherished grandmother to Mindie Hootman, Eric James Hootman, and Jennifer Hootman; adored great-grandmother to Kevin Campbell Jr.; aunt to Don Custer.  Helen provided in-home daycare for 40 years.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed singing karaoke at Mike’s Pizza, and talking to friends and family on the phone.  Family to receive friends at the HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Rd., North Fayette Twp., Imperial, PA, 724-695-7332, on Friday, October 6, 2023, between the hours of 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11:00 am at the funeral home followed by interment at Robinson Church Cemetery in Bulger, PA.  It is respectfully requested that donations be made to any veteran’s organization of one’s choice.  Rest in peace, Helen.
