Genevieve A. "Genny" (Arch) Zitko

Genevieve A. “Genny” Zitko, of McKees Rocks, PA, formerly of North Fayette Township, at the blessed age of 102, passed away on Tuesday evening, February 25, 2025.  Genny was born on July 28, 1922, in Moon Run, PA, daughter to the late Mary M. (Madar) and Joseph A. Arch; devoted wife of 60 years to the late Jacob “Jake” Zitko Jr. who passed on November 24, 2014; beloved mother to Alan Zitko, Joanne Zitko, and Larry (Louann) Zitko; cherished grandmother to Alex Zitko and Andrew Zitko; adored great-grandmother to Paisley Zitko; sister-in-law to Monna Arch.  Along with her husband and parents, Genny is preceded in death by her four brothers.  She was the only sister to Joseph Arch, John Arch, Robert Arch, and Paul Arch.

A lifelong parishioner of St. Columbkille Church, Genny was an active member of the Christian Mothers & Guild, two-term member of the Parish Council, and at one time was the Director of St. Columbkille Senior Citizens.  Genny was also a courageous breast cancer survivor.  May she now rest in peace.

Family to receive friends on Sunday, March 2, 2025, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., at HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Road, North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, (724) 695-7332.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish at St. Columbkille R. C. Church.  Genny’s burial will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Jake.  It is respectfully requested that donations in Jenny’s name be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.
