Elizabeth Killmeyer, age 89, of Moon Township, PA, passed away on Sunday afternoon, July 6, 2025. She was born on March 18, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA, during the St. Patrick’s Day Flood, daughter to the late Helen (Donahoe) and Paul McCrory Sr. Formerly a long-time resident of Imperial and currently residing at Apple Blossom Senior Living in Moon Township, Elizabeth is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Regis T. Killmeyer Jr., and cherished children: Mary Kernan (Karl) Vogeley of Willow Springs, NC; Regis T. (Diane) Killmeyer III of Fort Mill, SC; Elizabeth Killmeyer (Steve Purnell) of Camp Hill, PA; Anne Goodman of Moon Township, PA; Kathleen (William) Lynch of Hazleton, PA; Christopher (Amy) Killmeyer of Cary, NC; Monica (Brian) Heyl of Imperial, PA; and, son-in-law, Peter (Jill) Hennessey of Palm Harbor, FL. She was a loving “Nana” to 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Helen Hennessey, who passed on December 12, 2000, and siblings, Clara Kernan (Richard, who survives) Conti and Paul (Maria, who survives) McCrory.
Elizabeth’s family was what gave her the most joy, but she also enjoyed reading, building puzzles, knitting winter hats to donate to the Red Door Program at St. Mary of Mercy Church in Pittsburgh, and making rosaries to send to overseas missions. She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, St. Columbkille R. C. Church, and was active for many years as a CCD teacher and member of the Christian Mothers and Guild, Ladies of Charity, and Findlay Township Senior Citizens. She was previously an Auditor for Findlay Township and a volunteer at the West Allegheny Food Pantry and Western Allegheny Community Library where she worked many hours helping ensure their successful annual fundraiser, An Evening Under the Stars. Elizabeth generously welcomed numerous foster children into her home and had an in-home daycare where many children spent years being taken care of and loved by “Nanny.” She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Elizabeth.
