Donald "Chick" E. Brazen, Sr., age 90, passed peacefully on Thursday evening September 9, 2021, at Heritage Valley Kennedy. He was born on April 1,1931, in Arnold City, Fayette County. He was a son of the late Julia (Wozniak) and Frank Brazen. On April 14, 1956, he married Shirley A. (Moore) Brazen, who survives. Beloved father of Donald (Deborah) Brazen, Jr., Barbara (Thomas) Rayner, David (Cynthia) Brazen and Daniel (Natalie) Brazen. Adored grandfather of Jessica Mullen, Matthew Fisher, Christina Brazen, Rebecca Brazen, Danielle Rayner, Brett Brazen, Victoria Brazen, Ethan Rayner, Isaiah Brazen, Isaac Brazen and Josiah Brazen. Cherished great-grandfather of Keira Mullen and Trey Brazen. Brother of Jackie Niemeyer and the late Sam Brazen. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
Chick played football, basketball, and baseball in high school. Two weeks after graduation, he enlisted in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. Donald and Shirley lived in several places including Florida, Denver, New Jersey, Las Vegas, and returned home to Pennsylvania for the past 20 years. Chick enjoyed golfing, fishing, and tennis, especially with his sons. He also loved to build things. One of his passions was polkas, especially on Sundays, but he also enjoyed the waltz with "Blue Skirt Waltz" being his favorite song.
Chick retired from United Airlines. He, along with Shirley, was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, St. Columbkille R.C. Church. Rest in Peace, Chick.
