Dennis R. Slusser

On September 7, 2020, Dennis Slusser, age 69, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.  Son of the late George W. and Doris J. Slusser, brother of the late George Slusser, devoted husband of 40 years and best friend of Deborah, loving father of Carolyn, proud pappy to Levi and Kyden Lowes and proud owner of Frankie the dachshund. 

Denny graduated from Churchill High School and the Pittsburgh Technical Institute.  He spent his entire career as a engineer, first for WABCO IN Wilmerding and then WABTEC in Greensburg.  He had been a volunteer firefighter in Wilkens Township.  He was also a member of numerous antique car clubs and was nationally recognized for car restoration.

Anyone who knew Denny well, remembers his outstanding character.  He was selflessly devoted to his family and his career.  He would help anyone, could fix or build anything and had a great sense of humor and logic.  Denny was a wealth of information.  Though he was soft spoken, he was famous for his one-liners.  He loved nothing more than spending his weekends on Conneaut Lake with his family.  He was the epitome of what a husband, father, pappy and man should be.  He was our world and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

We would like to thank our family and friends for their continuous, loving support for the last 16 months since his diagnosis.  We thank Dr. Rahim Remtulla and the staff at the Hillman Cancer Center for their compassionate, expert care.  We would also like to thank Gallagher Hospice and Synergy Home Care for blessing Dennis with a peaceful passing surrounded by family.  Services are privately handled by Herrick Compassionate Funeral Service, PC.
