After an extended illness, Dennis C. Hartman, age 74, of North Fayette Township, Sturgeon, PA, passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 20, 2024, with his family and beloved dog, Nova, by his side. Although he lived most of his life in Oakdale, PA, Dennis was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 30, 1949, son to the late Rita M. (Herman) and Joseph P. Hartman; devoted husband of 49 years to his wife, Nancy (Foster) Hartman; cherished father to his son, Nathaniel (Jennifer) Hartman, and daughter, Emily (Aaron) Houser; grandfather to his two beloved grandsons, Tennessee and Ransom Houser. Dennis is also survived by his siblings, Sharon (the late Edwin) Carr, William (Theresa) Hartman, Patrick (Sue) Hartman, and Joseph (Annette) Hartman, many nieces and nephews, and several close friends, Wayne Carroll, Corky Conn, Kermit Nourigat, and John “Wap” Patterson.
Dennis was a hard-working heavy equipment operator and a proud member of Local 66. He was a man of God, a born again Christian, and a strong member of the Church at the Rock in Oakdale. However, there was nothing more important to Dennis than his family, friends, and much-loved dog, Nova. Dennis will be sadly missed by everyone he touched, but all are comforted to know he is at peace and wholly in the arms of God.
The family would like to thank Gallagher Hospice, Diane Karcz, and her wonderful staff for all their love and support for them and Dennis. They would also like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital Apheresis including Dr. Pinevich, Cathy, Donna, and Vonnie.
All arrangements are private per Dennis’ request and entrusted to HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Road, North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, 724-695-7332. It is respectfully requested that donations in Dennis’ memory be sent to the Church at the Rock, 250 State Street West, Oakdale, PA, 15071.
