Deanna L. Yanni, age 85, of Masonic Village in Sewickley, PA, formerly of Burgettstown, PA, passed peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was born in Bulger, PA, on September 24, 1937, daughter to the late Louise and Vasco Burchianti; devoted wife to the late Patsy Yanni who preceded her in death on July 27, 1988; beloved mother to Tricia (Marty) Blazer and Dana (Lance Baxendell) Yanni; cherished grandmother to Madison, Connor, and Arianna Blazer; also surviving is step-granddaughter Haley (Blake) Robbins and three step-great-grandchildren. Deanna graduated from Union High School in Burgettstown, in 1955 and went on to obtain her degree in education from California University in California, PA. She began her career teaching English at Hampton High School then taught for several years at Fort Cherry High School where she met her beloved husband of 27 years, Patsy. They bought their home in Burgettstown in 1964 on Clark Avenue where they raised their family. Deanna continued her teaching career at Burgettstown High School until she retired in 1995. Although she loved her home in Burgettstown, Deanna spent her last seven years at the Masonic Village in Sewickley. There she participated in art classes, bingo, and weekly church services, but her most cherished moments were her weekly visits with her daughters, Tricia and Dana, and her grandchildren, Madison, Connor, and Arianna. She found much happiness in hearing about what each of them did during the week, talking about current events, seeing their photos, and watching her favorite television shows, especially the Golden Girls. Deanna was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where she was also a member of Catholic Daughters. Her faith was very important to her and brought her much comfort and peace over the years. Blessed with a kind heart and unconditional love for her two daughters and three grandchildren, Deanna prioritized their happiness over everything. She had belonged to a ladies card club for many years in Burgettstown, was an avid reader, jewelry lover, Pittsburgh sports fan, daily Lotto player, and loyal friend. She had a great sense of humor, was very witty, and could definitely be feisty! Deanna enjoyed going out to dinner with friends and to the movies and theatre. Her absolute best days were those spent with her family and making memories. Family to receive friends at the HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M.
