Dan Betlyn Obituary

Dan A. Betlyn, age 86, of Findlay Township, Clinton, PA, went peacefully to his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, after a long fight with cancer.  A son of the late John and Stella (Lorenc) Betlyn; beloved husband of the late  Nancy (Price) Betlyn who passed on April 5, 2024; loving father of Lynda Stanislaw, Lori (Joe) Beaumont, and the late Daniel Betlyn who passed on October 27, 2014; adored grandfather of Erica (Tyler) Edwards, Joseph Beaumont, and Nicholas (Rachel) Beaumont; cherished great-grandfather of Rowan Edwards and Lucy Beaumont; brother of Carolyn Betlyn, Dinah Mutch, and the late David Edgar, Dorothy Betlyn, Charlie Betlyn and his wife Mary Jane who survives, and Rachel Azzizi and her husband Adam who survives.

Family was quite important to him, and he was interested in all that was going on with each member.

Dan was a graduate of Moon High School and then joined the Air Force Reserves where he learned to maintain and fuel planes. When he left the reserves, he used his skills to work for Allied Aviation fueling planes. Being the workaholic that he was, he also hauled steel for many years at the same time.

He had a love of cars and trucks; so much so that he was always “window shopping” for different cars. When he got sick, he continued the love of transportation by taking long rides with his daughters. Dan was also a gregarious person; he would strike up a conversation with anyone. Even when he lost the ability to communicate well, he was known to visit the neighbors or try to talk to anyone.

He enjoyed watching old TV shows, especially old comedies. He had a wonderful sense of humor and his laugh was infectious. He loved to make people laugh.

Rest in peace, Dan.
