On Thursday, September 6,1956, a happy, healthy baby boy was born. But, for Chris, his good health would be cut short and his 64-year journey would begin. Chris would become a very determined young man and extremely stubborn and headstrong. In his early years you could find him at Enlow ballfield playing kickball with his younger siblings and cousins. When he wasn't doing that, he would be busy fixing everything and anything from TV's, lawnmowers, cars and even rotary phones. He was extremely gifted in that area and took pride in his completed jobs. He spent many years volunteering at Tomazich's gas station. Though he never earned a paycheck there, he got things money couldn't buy like friends, self-worth, and accomplishments. To Chris, that was everything. Chris never let his disability stop him or slow him down. He was always happy, smiling and joking. He also loved camping, sitting around the campfire and playing bingo at camp. His nurses AKA "his girlfriends" loved him and cared for him as though he were one of their own. How could they not, because to know him was to love him. This all held true to the very end. Even in all his pain, he smiled, he laughed and all he wanted was to see you smile back.
On God's holiest of day, Sunday, May 16, 2021, at 1:50 A.M. Chris was peacefully eased of all his pain and suffering to be taken home and restored. We all know he is in a better place now with his Mother, his Grandma, and his Nephew Michael. Chris is truly the lucky one here today.
