Chester Stanley Zalnasky, age 89, of Coraopolis, PA, was called by the Lord to his heavenly home on Monday, December 22, 2025. Chester was born on December 1, 1936, in Santiago, PA, son to the late Jennie (Logar) and Mitchell Zalnasky; beloved husband of 51 years to Carol (Novoselski) Zalnasky, who survives; adored father to Mina Zalnasky, Michael Zalnasky, Mark (Patti) Zalnasky, Susan (Jack) Cantwell, Laurie (Jeff) Biers, and Brian (Brooke) Lightner; loving grandfather to Patrick Fedorko, Brandon Fedorko, Madison Zalnasky, Christina Zalnasky, Jennie Zalnasky, John Cantwell, and Patricia Coleman; loving Pappy to great-grandchildren Juliana and Ethan Fedorko, Pierce, Luca, and Emi Santos, and Penelope and Paislei Zalnasky. Chester is also survived by his brother, Micky (Jackie) Zalnasky, and loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Along with his parents, Chester is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Gallo) Zalnasky, brother and sister-in-law, Alvin (Kathy) Zalnasky, grandson, Mitchell Fedorko, and nephews James and Matthew Zalnasky.
A 1954 graduate of West Allegheny High School, Chester went on to serve in the United States Army. Upon discharge in 1957, he became a Boilermaker and was a member of Boilermakers Local Union #154 for 40 years. Chester enjoyed Pitt football and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Rest in peace, Chester.
Family to receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2025, between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Road, North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, (724) 695-7332, where a Blessing Service will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place on Wednesday December 31, 2025, at 2.00 p.m. at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with Military Honors.
