Carolynn R. Remaly, age 82, of North Fayette Township, Oakdale, PA, passed away at her residence on Friday morning, March 21, 2025. Carolynn was born on October 28, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter to the late Rose (Talarico) and George Lawyer; loving wife of 43 years to the late Robert P. Remaly Jr. who passed on November 7, 2006; beloved mother to Robin Remaly and Dr. Michael (Dianna) Remaly; cherished grandmother to Gabriella and Isabella; sister to the late Nancy Gilbert and her husband, Jim, who survives.
Carolynn was well-known among her family and friends for her cooking and baking, specifically hot sausage, wedding cookies, and her famous nut roll. She loved good food and a great cup of coffee as well as any type of chocolate or sweets. Reading about current events was an interest of Carolynn’s, and her reading also included true crime novels. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, tending to her many varieties of flowers, herbs, and vegetables. Carolynn was also a lover of animals and rescued quite a few over the years. If one of them made it to her house, they hit the jackpot as a pet. The fall season was a favorite of Carolynn’s, and she enjoyed celebrating Halloween.
Carolynn was so very generous to everyone, even beyond family and close friends. She was funny with a great laugh and sense of humor and loved telling stories. More than anything, she was loyal and protective of those she loved and prioritized family above all else. Rest in peace, Carolynn.
At Carolynn’s request, there will be no public visitation. All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish at St. Columbkille R. C. Church, followed by committal at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery.
