Carol Ann (Malone) Messner

Carol Ann Messner, affectionately known to many as "Ruthie", age 79, of Findlay Township, Clinton, PA, passed on Sunday morning December 27, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence (Fullerton) Malone and a sister, Arlene Pugh.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George Messner who she married on August 12, 1967. She was the beloved special mother of Shannon Messner, adored aunt of Marilyn Pasco, Linda Erickson, John Pugh and Jim Pugh; cherished great-aunt of 8 and numerous friends.

Carol received a Masters Degree in Education from Slippery Rock University and retired after 35 years from Hopewell School District as a 6th grade teacher.  She had several hobbies during her retirement which included volunteering with the West Allegheny Food Pantry where she coordinated the Thrift Store for over 20 years, hosting an annual yard sale with the help of many friends and where she attracted many buyers from around the tri-state area, donating her time with the Western Allegheny Community Library since she was such an avid reader, traveling with the Findlay Township senior citizens and attending concerts in the area because of her love of music.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and for the safety of all, a private viewing was held for the immediate family.  A memorial gathering will take place at Valley Church Social Hall on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 4 - 7 PM.  All are welcome to attend.
