Byron P. Yecko Sr., age 89, of North Fayette Township, Coraopolis, PA, passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Byron was born in Cliff Mine, PA, North Fayette Township, on July 3, 1935, son to the late Lucille (Peach) and James Yecko; devoted husband of 68 years to the late Darlene L. (Shaw) Yecko; beloved father to Byron Yecko Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Melissa Steele and her husband, John, and Marlene Hauck and her husband, Jim; cherished grandfather to John (Tina) Steele III, Jason (Ann) Steele, Aaron Hauck, and Kara Hauck; adored great-grandfather to Nathan and Jayce; brother to the late James Yecko. Byron will also be missed by his furry friend, his cat, Midnight.
Byron was employed as a truck driver, both locally and over the road. He then worked in maintenance for North Fayette Township, retiring at age 74. Byron was a member of the SNPJ Lodge #106 in Imperial. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his camp in Titusville, hunting, and anything related to the outdoors. Rest in peace, Byron.
Family to receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2024, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Road, North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, 724-695-7332. Everyone please meet at Montours Church Chapel where a Committal Service will take place on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
