Alfred D. Marzzarella, Sr., known by many as " Big Al " passed peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Saturday morning February 6, 2021 at the age of 90. Al was born on January 29, 1931 in Pittsburgh. A son of the late Anginettie and Rocco Marzzarella. Al served his country in the United States Army, Signal Core and followed in the Reserves, during the Korean War. In 1951 Al married the love of his life, Barbara (Hootman) Marzzarella who preceded him in death along with a son Paul Marzzarella and a granddaughter Raeanna Marzzarella. Al is survived by his children Betty Jo (Scott) Woodring, Annette (the late William) Gross, Alfred (Kathy) Marzzarella, Jr. and Beatrice (David) Kisow. Cherished grandfather of 16 and adored great -grandfather of 23, who were his life and legacy. In 1960 he opened his business of Imperial Truck Body & Equipment on Santiago Road in Imperial, were he loved working side by side with his children, grandchildren until he retired in 2010. Upon retirement Al enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, and visiting the casino's as often as possible. Al was a loving, caring and thoughtful family man who loved spending time with each and everyone of them. Rest in Peace Al.
