Alan R. Vermeulen, age 69, of Imperial, PA, formerly of McKees Rocks, PA, passed on Monday afternoon, August 5, 2024, surrounded with the love of family by his side. A son of the late Frank J. and Betty J. (Parkinson) Vermeulen, beloved husband of 43 years to Margaret (Brady) Vermeulen; brother of Frank (Janet) Vermeulen Jr., Paul Vermeulen, Steve Hoffman, his best friend/brother Jack (Patty) Vermeulen, and the late Mike Vermeulen. He was a great Dad-Uncle to David Bui, Devin Bui, and Michael Vermeulen. He is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews as well as cousins. Also, he leaves behind his best pal, fur son, Odin. Odin got to visit Alan at the hospital which made Al so happy.
Alan was one of the hardest workers I have ever seen. He began painting at the age of 11 with his dad at Frank and Sons painting for many years, Serta Mattress for about 10 years, but never stopped painting. He and his brother Jack started Jack the Runner Painting, then Alan went it alone in the business until his passing.
Alan enjoyed playing Roblox with his great niece and nephew when he got the chance. Of course, they beat him all the time! He loved to fish when he got the chance to go to his camp in Tionesta, creating many fond memories there with friends and family.
Rest in peace, Al.
