Aaron Lee Hawn, age 76, of North Fayette Township, Oakdale, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday afternoon, January 31, 2025, after suffering from ALS disease. Aaron was born on August 10, 1948, in Braddock, PA, son to the late Estella F. (Feldbusch) and August L. Hawn; devoted husband of 33 years to Cheryl G. (Hamilton) Hawn; beloved father to Lisa (Charles) Fields and Stephen “Craig” (Britney) Bowen; lovingly referred to as Poppy to his 14 grandchildren: CJ, Caleb, Stephanie, Joshua, Brianna G., Hannah, Carmella, Rashele, Alexis, Elijah, Rashena, Brianna A., Gwendolyn, and Victor; brother to Naomi (Tim) Jones and Paul (Linda) Hawn.
Aaron grew up in Monroeville, PA, graduating from Gateway High School in 1967. He attended computer school and Penn State University where he earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He was a Vietnam War veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force. Aaron worked for the University of Kentucky Hospital as the Director of Biomedical Engineering and various Veterans Administration Hospitals in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Florida, and Texas. He even worked in the Biomedical Department for the Indian Health Services in Rosebud, South Dakota. Aaron also obtained his real estate license in 2005 and worked alongside his wife, Cheryl, until 2012.
A man of many passions, Aaron found happiness in music, movies, cooking, and dining out. He also had a deep appreciation for antique cars as well as model cars. An avid supporter of all the Pittsburgh sports teams, Aaron cheered enthusiastically for the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates, and he loved playing baseball. Aaron also shared a special bond with his dog, Grace, who preceded him in death, passing in 2022.
Aaron’s life was filled with love for his family and the simple joys that brought him comfort and connection. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Family to receive friends on Friday, February 7, 2025, between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at HERRICK COMPASSIONATE FUNERAL SERVICE, PC, Edward M. Herrick, Supervisor/Owner, 951 Cliff Mine Road, North Fayette Township, Imperial, PA, (724) 695-7332, where a Funeral Service, led by Pastor Kathryn Loucks, will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Robinson’s Run Cemetery.
