Donna Lee Walker, age 86, of Upper St. Clair, transitioned peacefully to her eternal home on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Donna was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 27, 1937, daughter to the late Leola (Gust) and Lincoln Harshbarger; beloved wife of 63 years to Russell A. Walker, who survives; loving mother to Russell C. (Jolene) Walker, Sharon Hanlon, and Eric (Katie) Walker; devoted grandmother to Kaitlyn (Aaron), Meghan, Isabella, Allegra, Gianna, and Finn; cherished great-grandmother to Samiaya; sister to Barbara Hafer (the late John Pidgeon); aunt to Bethany Hafer.
Russ and Donna were high school sweethearts who both enjoyed playing in the band, including marching in the Rose Bowl Parade and the presidential inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower. After high school, Donna attended West Penn School of Nursing while Russ attended college. They reconnected while Donna was a private duty nurse for Russ’s ailing father, and they married a year later. Donna was the Head Registered Nurse in the operating room at West Penn Hospital for many years, eventually moving on to work alongside Russ and their children in the family business. She always took great pride in supporting her grandchildren, loved to read, and enjoyed socializing with friends and loved ones. Donna was an active member of Crossroads Church and eagerly volunteered for anything and everything.
Donna was loved by family and friends and will be missed by so many. She will always be remembered for her welcoming smile, beautiful blue eyes, generous heart, and her love of music and dance. Russ would always say to Donna, “Save the last dance for me,” as they were the love of each other’s lives.
